Lindt Home of Chocolate is a brand visitor centre rather than a neutral museum, and it is very good at being one. Opened in 2020 in Kilchberg on Lake Zurich, beside the working Lindt factory, it is built around a nine-metre chocolate fountain in the atrium — the tallest in the world, circulating real chocolate — with a multimedia exhibition covering cacao cultivation, the history of chocolate in Europe, and the specifically Swiss contributions: Rodolphe Lindt's invention of conching in 1879, which turned gritty chocolate into something that melts, and the development of milk chocolate.

The tasting stations through the exhibition are generous, and the shop at the end is the largest Lindt store anywhere. Chocolate-making workshops run alongside the standard visit and are the more memorable option, but places are limited and book out well ahead.

Demand is high generally, and walk-up entry is often unavailable — advance booking is genuinely necessary rather than merely advisable. It is easily reached from Zurich by bus, train or, more pleasantly, by boat across the lake.
