Titanic Belfast is a monument to Belfast’s maritime heritage, located on the site where RMS Titanic was designed, built, and launched. Titanic Belfast stands on the exact ground where the ship was designed, built and launched — the Harland and Wolff slipways are outside the door, marked at full scale so you can walk the ship's footprint and grasp how large she was. The building's four angular prows, clad in 3,000 silver anodised panels, rise to the height of Titanic's hull. Nine galleries run chronologically from Belfast's industrial boom through design and construction, the launch, the fit-out, the maiden voyage, the sinking, the aftermath and the wreck's discovery in 1985, including a ride through a reconstruction of the shipyard.

The perspective is specifically Belfast's — this is a story about a city that built the largest moving object ever made, told by the descendants of the people who built it, rather than a disaster narrative imported from Hollywood. The SS Nomadic, Titanic's original tender and the last White Star Line vessel afloat, sits in a nearby dry dock and is usually included.

It is Northern Ireland's most visited attraction, so timed entry sells out in summer.
