Located in the Saadiyat Cultural District, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi offers an immersive journey through Earth’s 13.8 billion-year history. Planning your visit

The Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi opened in 2025 in the Saadiyat Cultural District, joining the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Zayed National Museum, and it arrived with acquisitions designed to make an immediate impression. Stan, a Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton around 67 million years old and among the most complete ever found, is the headline. The Murchison meteorite, containing organic compounds older than the solar system, and a 25-metre blue whale skeleton are alongside it.

The permanent galleries run from the formation of the universe through the evolution of life to the present, with substantial attention to the Arabian Peninsula's own natural heritage — a region whose deserts, mountains and Gulf waters hold more than visitors expect, and whose deep past includes periods when it was savannah and forest.

The museum also functions as a research and teaching institution rather than a display space alone.

Being new, it is less crowded than its neighbours. Allow two to three hours.
