LÔAC alberga una colección de arte contemporáneo con obras de artistas como Joan Miró, Miquel Barceló y Jaume Plensa, siendo la única exhibición pública de una colección privada en Menorca.

LÔAC is the only public showing of a private contemporary art collection on Menorca, and the works are considerably more significant than the island's scale would suggest: Joan Miró, Miquel Barceló and Jaume Plensa among Spanish artists, alongside international contemporary work.

The Balearic connection runs through it. Miró's mother was Mallorcan and he spent his last decades on that island; Barceló is Mallorcan; and the archipelago has drawn artists for a century for the light and the remove from the mainland art world.

The centre occupies a building in Alaior, an inland town in the middle of Menorca, away from the coastal resorts — which means it is quiet and that the visit involves seeing something of the island's agricultural interior, with its dry-stone walls and cheese dairies.

Menorca is a UNESCO biosphere reserve and considerably less developed than Mallorca or Ibiza. Allow an hour. The main booking is an entrance ticket. Current availability is listed below.
