Some are shared across the Slavic world — the vila, the water and forest spirits, the household guardians. Others are local: the Istrian krsnik, a man born with the power to fight witches while his body sleeps; the malik; the Zagreb legends attached to specific streets. Croatia also has a documented vampire case predating Bram Stoker by centuries, Jure Grando of Istria, recorded in the seventeenth century.
The presentation is immersive and theatrical, with sound, lighting and staged environments rather than display cases, and it works with children as well as adults.
