The Prague Beer Museum covers that tradition in a thirteenth-century cellar with themed rooms, tracing brewing from the medieval monastery era through the invention of pilsner in 1842 to the modern craft revival.
The tasting is integral, and the range is the point: Czech brewing extends well beyond pale lager into dark lagers, wheat beers, sour beers and the strong speciality brews, most of which are not exported.
