Queensland Museum Kurilpa sits on South Bank in Brisbane, part of the cultural precinct alongside the state gallery and library, and it covers natural history, cultural heritage and science.
Queensland's palaeontology is the standout: Muttaburrasaurus, the state's best-known dinosaur, and material from the Winton fossil fields in the interior which have produced Australia's largest sauropods. Megafauna from the more recent past, including Diprotodon, feature.

The museum was renamed to incorporate Kurilpa, the Turrbal and Yuggera name for the area.
