Sigüenza's cathedral is the town's monument, and its most famous occupant is the Doncel — a marble tomb effigy of a young knight who died at the siege of Granada in 1486, shown reclining on one elbow reading a book rather than lying in the conventional posture of death. It is among the most admired funerary sculptures in Spain.

The Diocesan Museum, in a neoclassical palace opposite, holds religious art from the twelfth to twentieth centuries drawn from parishes across the diocese: panel paintings, sculpture, textiles, manuscripts and metalwork, including a Zurbarán Immaculate Conception.

Sigüenza itself is a small hill town in Guadalajara province with a castle, now a parador, and a medieval centre that sees little tourism despite being under two hours from Madrid.
