Art in Paradise Chiang Mai holds over 130 large-scale trompe-l'oeil paintings across themed zones — underwater, wildlife, classical art, Thai cultural scenes, dinosaurs and fantasy — each painted in forced perspective so that a visitor standing at the marked spot appears to be inside the image.

Chiang Mai is a temple and mountain destination, and it has a genuine rainy season from roughly June to October when afternoon downpours are reliable. Indoor options matter accordingly, and this is among the more substantial ones, taking two hours or more to work through properly.

The value depends entirely on participating. Groups and families get a great deal; the paintings mean nothing viewed from the wrong angle.

The museum is part of a Thai chain with branches in Pattaya, Bangkok and elsewhere, each with different artwork.
