The Kröller-Müller holds the second-largest Van Gogh collection in the world — nearly 90 paintings and around 180 drawings assembled by Helene Kröller-Müller in the 1900s, when he was still relatively unknown. What makes the visit distinctive is the setting: the museum sits inside De Hoge Veluwe National Park, and its 25-hectare sculpture garden, one of Europe's largest, runs into the woodland behind it. Free white bicycles at the park gates are the traditional way to reach it.

The location is also the practical catch — it's well outside Amsterdam, so most bookable options handle the journey. Half-day and full-day guided tours run from Amsterdam, along with private tours, and several combine the museum with the national park itself. Others extend to the medieval town of Elburg, or to Het Loo Palace and Muiderslot castle. Straightforward entrance tickets suit visitors already staying in the Veluwe.
