The Motor Museum of Western Australia holds over 200 vehicles at Whiteman Park, covering veteran and vintage cars, motorcycles, racing machinery and commercial vehicles, much of it restored by volunteers.
The Formula One car is the headline: Daniel Ricciardo's 2014 Red Bull RB10, the car in which the Perth-born driver took his first three grand prix wins. Ricciardo is Western Australia's most successful motorsport export and the loan carries real local weight.
Australian motoring history has its own character — enormous distances, poor roads for much of the twentieth century, and locally built Holdens and Fords designed for conditions no European car could handle — and the collection reflects it.
Whiteman Park is a large recreation reserve with a heritage tramway and railway, making a full family day.
