Built around Enzo Ferrari’s childhood home and his father’s original workshop, the museum combines a biographical exhibition with a gallery of historic and modern Ferraris, tracing the marque’s engineering and racing heritage.

The Museo Enzo Ferrari in Modena is the biographical half of the Ferrari story, and the Maranello museum is the other. This one is built around the house where Enzo Ferrari was born in 1898 and his father's mechanical workshop beside it, preserved and joined to a striking modern gallery with a yellow aluminium roof shaped like a car bonnet, its louvres echoing engine vents.

The workshop building covers his life: the racing career, the founding of Scuderia Ferrari as Alfa Romeo's racing arm, the break, the wartime years, the first cars under his own name, and the personal history — including the death of his son Dino — that shaped the company. The gallery alongside holds rotating displays of significant cars.

Modena is also where Maserati and Pagani are based and where balsamic vinegar and tortellini come from, making the wider Motor Valley a substantial day out.
