Red Star Belgrade won the European Cup in 1991, beating Marseille on penalties in Bari — the only Yugoslav club ever to do so, and they added the Intercontinental Cup that December, beating Colo-Colo in Tokyo.
Both trophies are in this museum, and their significance is inseparable from what happened next: Yugoslavia disintegrated into war within months, the squad scattered across Europe, and the club never approached that level again. A team including Savićević, Prosinečki, Mihajlović, Pančev and Stojković was broken up by the collapse of the country that produced it.
Over 1,400 exhibits cover the club's history from 1945, when it was founded in the immediate postwar period.
