Amos Anderson was a Finnish newspaper publisher and one of the country's major art patrons, and Söderlångvik was his summer estate in the Turku archipelago — a manor house he furnished in 1930s style and left to a foundation on his death in 1961.
The house holds Finnish art from 1900 to 1950 alongside his interiors, preserved as he arranged them, which makes it as much a document of collecting taste as an art museum.
The apple orchards are a substantial part of the estate, with thousands of trees, and the juice is sold on site.
Kim Simonsson's Moss People — child figures covered in vivid green nylon fibre, standing in the grounds among the trees — are the contemporary addition, and photograph as strangely as they read.
