The Museum of Senses in Bucharest holds over 40 rooms and installations in AFI Cotroceni, one of the city's large shopping malls — a location that is practical rather than romantic, and which puts it alongside cinemas, restaurants and shops for a full family afternoon.

The exhibits cover the recognised repertoire of perceptual illusion: the Ames Room, which makes people appear to change size as they cross it; an infinity room; a vortex tunnel; an inverted room where furniture hangs from the ceiling; and a 2D café flattened into what looks like a drawing.

Each installation includes an explanation of the visual or physical mechanism, which gives it some educational content beyond the photography.
