Paradox Museum Oslo opened in 2024 with more than 70 installations built around perception, physics and mirrors — rooms that appear to defy gravity, an anti-gravity chamber, a rotated room, infinity mirrors, and exhibits that make people appear to shrink, float or stand on the ceiling. Each has a marked position for the camera, and staff are on hand to explain the trick and take the photograph.

It is designed for participation, and its value scales accordingly: groups, families and friends get a great deal from it, solo visitors much less.

For Oslo it fills a specific gap — the city's museums are excellent but serious, and options for younger children or for a rainy afternoon are limited. The central location helps.

A visit runs about an hour. Weekday slots are calmer than weekends, when the popular installations queue at the photo marks.
