Spyscape offers immersive experiences into the world of espionage, featuring interactive exhibits on encryption, deception, surveillance, hacking, and special operations.

Spyscape was developed with input from former intelligence officers, and its structure is participatory rather than exhibitional: visitors are issued an identity band, complete challenges across seven areas — encryption, deception, surveillance, hacking, special operations — and receive a profile at the end suggesting the intelligence role they would be suited to.
The challenges are real tests rather than quizzes: a lie-detection interview, a surveillance task, a laser tunnel measuring physical agility, and a hacking simulation.
Historical content runs alongside, covering Bletchley Park and the Enigma machine, Cold War operations, the Cambridge spies and modern cyber-espionage, with genuine artefacts including an Enigma.
The building on West 55th Street was designed by David Adjaye.
It works well with older children and teenagers rather than younger ones.
