teamLab Planets TOKYO is an immersive digital art museum in Toyosu, Tokyo, where visitors walk through water and interact with large-scale artworks that change based on their presence.
Planning your visit
teamLab Planets is the one where visitors walk barefoot through water. Shoes come off at the entrance and stay off, the floors change texture underfoot, and one room holds knee-deep water in which projected koi swim around the people standing in it and burst into flowers on contact.
The other rooms are as physical: a soft sloping surface that is difficult to cross, a mirrored space filled with hanging illuminated orbs that change colour when pushed, an infinite crystal universe, and a garden of living orchids suspended at head height.
Wear or bring clothing that can be rolled above the knee; shorts are provided if needed. Phones survive but get wet.
teamLab's larger Borderless venue in Azabudai is a separate ticket and a different experience.
