The collection covers consoles from the Magnavox Odyssey and Atari through the Nintendo and Sega generations to the present, home computers including the Spanish-market machines that shaped a distinct local gaming culture in the 1980s, arcade cabinets, and virtual reality. Most of it can be played, which is the point.
Spain's own contribution is a genuine strand: the 1980s golden age of Spanish software produced games on the ZX Spectrum and Amstrad that were exported across Europe, and the museum covers that history, which is largely unknown outside the country.
