Superblue opened in Miami's Allapattah district in 2021 as a purpose-built venue for large-scale immersive art — over 50,000 square feet designed to house works that conventional galleries cannot accommodate.

The artists are the substance rather than an anonymous design studio. teamLab's Between Life and Non-Life fills a room with responsive projection; James Turrell's work manipulates light and perception in ways that require dedicated architecture; Es Devlin, a stage designer working at the scale of stadium tours and Olympic ceremonies, contributes a mirrored installation.

The distinction from the generic immersive-experience market is real: these are named artists with substantial practices, and the works are commissioned rather than licensed.

Timed entry is used and the experience runs around ninety minutes.
